Salted caramel and apples are a match made in food heaven are they not? If I am being really honest I’d say salted caramel and just about any food are a match made in heaven. This cake although simple in appearance is really anything but simple in flavor. Rich, buttery batter and caramelized tart apples are just the beginning. As if those flavors weren’t enough, this cake get’s topped with some gorgeous salted caramel sauce. So, good, satisfying and perfect for this time of year. This kind of dessert makes me want to hunker down with a big piece, under a fluffy blanket in front of a fire and savor each and every bite.
